The French Oven Bakery and Café was opened by local Scripps Ranch residents, Yves Fournier, and his wife, Susie.
Chef Yves grew up in France, in a small village at the base of the French Alps called Veyrier du Lac. Baking has always been a Fournier family tradition, and today, He represents the 5th generation of bakers in his family. An old family bakery sign from 1840 hangs on the wall of The French Oven.

What an amazing bakery! We never heard of this bakery until we saw it on tv. They featured this bakery as the paris olympic is around the corner. We were there 30 minutes before they open. My husband and I are always looking for outstanding bakeries in San Diego. This is the best so far. We dined in and we also did some take out.
Wow, all my orders were on point!! Service was quick and friendly! If anything, I hope they will expand the space and make it real hangout cafe to sit in. Such a great bakery that deserves a bigger crowd!
This place is awesome. This place is tucked away you would not know where it is unless looking for it, they have really good treats I would definitely recommend the chocolate eclair. They have really good sandwiches and the service is pretty quick and the people are very nice.
My husband and I would gain 100 pounds if we lived closer to the French Oven! Everything was excellent. I hear it is pretty crowded on the weekend. It's a good thing we are retired! Our friends said they have been picking up pre-made dinners on Fridays and have enjoyed them. Tables are outside and there are no heaters. Bundle up and go enjoy!
Tried almost everything from the menu at this hidden gem tucked inside Scripps Ranch. Haven't gotten disappointed yet. Servers are friendly. Outdoor seating only. Lines can get long during peak times, but worth the wait. The best R.A.C. (Raspberry Almond Croissant) in San Diego!
